Network analysis modeling towards GIS based on object-relation database

In contrast to the raster data model is the vector data model. In this model, space is not quantized into discrete grid cells like the raster model. Vector data models use points and their associated X, Y coordinate pairs to represent the vertices of spatial features, much as if they were being drawn on a map by hand Aronoff Aronoff, S. The data attributes of these features are then stored in a separate database management system. The spatial information and the attribute information for these models are linked via a simple identification number that is given to each feature in a map. Three fundamental vector types exist in geographic information systems GISs : points, lines, and polygons Figure 4.

This book covers fundamental aspects of spatial data modelling specifically on the aspect of three-dimensional 3D modelling and structuring. Realisation of true 3D GIS spatial system needs a lot of efforts, and the process is taking place in various research centres and universities in some countries. The development of spatial data modelling for 3D objects is the focus of this book. The book begins with some problems and motivations, the fundamental theories, the implementation, and some applications developed based on the concepts. The book is intended for various geoinformation related professionals like GIS engineers, GIS software developers, photogrammetrists, land surveyors, mapping specialists, researchers, postgraduate students, and lecturers. A data model is a way of defining and representing real world surfaces and characteristics in GIS. There are two primary types of spatial data models: Vector and Raster. Vector data is very common, and is often used to represent features like roads and boundaries. Vector data comes in the form of points and lines that are geometrically and mathematically associated. Types of Vector Data Points : One pair of coordinates defines the location of a point feature.

The purpose of this paper is to describe a taxonomy of GIS functions, focusing on analytical capabilities. The taxonomy is rooted in an abstract model describing geographic data, and an operational model describing the processing of this data in GIS. The taxonomy emphasizes the meaning of the information derived through GIS-based analysis rather than the technical mechanisms for deriving this information.

This paper compares the differences between the mathematical model in graph theory and GIS network analysis model. Thus it claims that the GIS network analysis model needs to solve. Then this paper introduces the spatial data management methods in object-relation database for GIS and discusses its effects on the network analysis model. Finally it puts forward the GIS network analysis model based on the object-relation database. The structure of the model is introduced in detail and research is done to the internal and external memory data structure of the model. The results show that it performs well in practice.

A separate data model is used to store and maintain attribute data for GIS software. A variety of different data models exist for the storage and management of attribute data. The most common are:. The tabular model is the manner in which most early GIS software packages stored their attribute data. The next three models are those most commonly implemented in database management systems DBMS. The object oriented is newer but rapidly gaining in popularity for some applications. A brief review of each model is provided.

Due to inadequate research on geographic modeling of COVID, we investigated county-level variations of disease incidence across the continental United States. We compiled a geodatabase of 35 environmental, socioeconomic, topographic, and demographic variables that could explain the spatial variability of disease incidence. Further, we employed spatial lag and spatial error models to investigate spatial dependence and geographically weighted regression GWR and multiscale GWR MGWR models to locally examine spatial non-stationarity.

Data modeling data modelling is the process of creating a data model for the data to be stored in a database. This data model is a conceptual representation of Data objects, the associations between different data objects, and the rules. Data modeling helps in the visual representation of data and enforces business rules, regulatory compliances, and government policies on the data.

Spatial analysis is a type of geographical analysis which seeks to explain patterns of human behavior and its spatial expression in terms of mathematics and geometry, that is, locational analysis.
