Rep. Tim Ryan addresses child care and early education at a campaign stop in Des Moines

At a private home event in Des Moines, IA on May 31st, Representative Tim Ryan discussed his views on child care and early education.

He was asked by Jill Applegate, co-chair of Iowa’s Children’s Policy Coalition, what he planned to do as president to address the child care crisis that many families face. Ryan states that he would first expand the child care tax credit to make sure that families could use the money they receive to cover the cost of child care.

Ryan also goes on to talk about his plans to implement paid family leave and to direct more funding to Head Start programs, ensuring that all kids have an a place to go as soon as possible. To hear Ryan’s full response on child care and early education, watch the video below.
